About the Show

Virtuoso pianist Inna Faliks has been described by critics as “riveting, passionate, warmly poetic, infusing every note with personality.” After playing with the Chicago Symphony at age 15, Ms. Faliks has been regularly concertizing in prestigious venues in the US and abroad. A winner of numerous competitions, Ms. Faliks received first prize in the Pro Musicis International Award 2005. Other competition prizes include first prize in the St. Charles International Piano Competition, the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, National Federation of Music Clubs, Yale Gordon Peabody Conservatory Competition, MTNA Yamaha National Competition, amongst others. Her program at Yamaha will include: Ravel Ondine from Gaspard de la Nuit Beethoven Fantasie opus 77 Schoenberg 3 pieces opus 11 Rachmaninoff Sonata number 2 in B flat minor original 1913 version. During the past few seasons, engagements include a Weill/Carnegie Hall recital, recital at Boston’s Longy School, recitals and broadcasts in LA County Museum of Art, the Knoxville Young Pianist Series, Worcester Museum of Art Concert Series, Mostly Music in Chicago, Pianoforte Chicago Series, as well as live broadcasts on WFMT. Festival appearances include Bargemusic in NYC, Chautauqua in NY, Brevard in South Carolina, Roundtop in Maine, Taos in New Mexico, Verbier in Switzerland, and La Gesse in France. Ms. Faliks recently played recitals in Italy and completed a tour of Estonia and Russia. She has played under the batons of Leonard Slatkin, Keith Lockhart, Stephen Alltop, Anne Harrigan, and many others.
