"If City Opera gives us an Alden production a year in perpetuity … it’ll be an extraordinary gift to our cultural life." –The New York Observer

Having captured the imaginations of audiences and critics alike with his 2009 production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, visionary director Christopher Alden continues to create "the most consistently vibrant operatic theater in the city" (The New York Observer) when he returns to lead this highly-anticipated second production in his ongoing Mozart/da Ponte cycle for City Opera.

Alden once again brings his trademark daring style to Mozart’s brilliant score, a meditation on loyalty and commitment, attraction and desire. This cynical test of two sisters’ fidelity is brought to life by a cast of today’s most promising young talents, including Jennifer Holloway, Allan Clayton, and Rod Gilfry in their City Opera debuts.
