About This Show

Clifton Anderson is considered to be one of the top trombonists performing in jazz today. He received his first trombone at age 7 from his uncle, jazz legend Sonny Rollins. Clifton is a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music, and although his career reflects work with a “who’s who” of diverse musical giants; from Frank Foster, McCoy Tyner, Stevie Wonder, Dizzy Gillespie, The Mighty Sparrow to Lester Bowie, Paul Simon, Muhal Richard Abrams and WyClef Jean, he’s perhaps best known for his work with Sonny Rollins. “He has crafted his sound into one which both his peers and audiences clearly appreciate.” -Jazz Improv Magazine
