Buenos Ayres: Tangos From Heaven and Hell is a multimedia tango performance featuring live music by The Zvi Migdal Tango Ensemble, narration, video imaging and choreography and dancing by Diego di Falco, Carolina Zokalski, Cecilia Saia and Ronen Khayat all of whom were in the musical Forever Tango.
This unique concert casts Argentine Tango in a new light — this is not your grandparents’ Tango show. The show takes audiences through a series of vignettes to tell the story of Argentine Tango in a distinctive format: through the thematic content of Tango lyrics and Argentine texts by Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortazar and Juan Gelman. Themes range from immigration, to dictatorship, to passion, to soccer. Buenos Ayres presents the Tango in a full range of expression: from traditional choreography and instrumentation to modern dance and the sounds of the electric guitar. Zvi Migdal’s relish for the bitterness of Tango is old-fashioned, yet their attitude, charm and presence are decidedly modern.
