Broadway Bears VII

It’s time for the fur to fly this year at the Broadway Bears VII auction in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Sure to out-do last year’s collection, 40 one-of-a-kind Broadway bears – each dressed in original, handmade costumes representing some of the theater’s most legendary characters – are put up for auction. This year’s event is hosted by Bryan Batt.

This year’s cast of forty bears features autographed bears representing such shows as Avenue Q, Hairspray, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Flower Drum Song, Dreamgirls, Carnival, Dancin’, The Lion King, A Year With Frog & Toad, How To Succeed?, Mame, Rent, Wicked, and The Producers.

Once again, many of bears are autographed by the stars they represent, including Angela Lansbury, Glenn Close, Bernadette Peters, Celeste Holm, Carol Channing, Antonio Banderas, Peter Palmer, Renee Fleming, Julie Taymor, Marin Mazzie, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Mark Linn-Baker, Sutton Foster, Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Stephen Sondheim, Jose Llana, Melba Moore, Cady Huffman, Judy Kuhn, Lucie Arnaz, Boy George, Rosie O’Donnell, Denis O’Hare, Daniel Sunjata, Jai Rodriguez, Jerry Orbach, Bebe Neuwirth, and John McMartin.
