About this show

Broadway Close Up, the Elaine Kaufman Cultural Center's new series of musical theater programs at Merkin Concert Hall, concludes its inaugural season with Bound for Broadway, a look at the bright lights and rising stars writing for musical theater today. Hosted by Tony Award-winning actress Karen Ziemba, star of the current smash hit Contact, the concert features performances by some of Broadway's great new talents, including Michael Winther (1776) and Mary Stout (Jane Eyre). Among the songwriters represented will be: Rob Nastif (one of the composers for the upcoming Hal Prince production, 3ree), and Kirstin Childs, a triple Drama Desk nominee for The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin. The event is presented in association with BMI, creator of the prestigious musical theater writers' workshop where many of the writers represented this evening are members.
