About the Show
American Songbook’s concert series entitled
Perspectives features a variety of musical artists offering their own unique takes on the American popular song including:
November 15: Composer/conductor Rob Kapilow — the creator of the series “What Makes It Great?” that shows audiences how to listen to and better understand classical music – presents a program entitled “What Makes Leonard Bernstein
Great?” Tony-nominated actor Brian d’Arcy James performs samples of the composer’s work. (8:00pm; $25)
November 16: La Chanze, the star of the musicals Once on this Island and Ragtime, performs an evening of standards, jazz, and original songs. (8:00pm for $45; 10:00pm for $30)
