About the Show

American Songbook–the acclaimed Lincoln Center series devoted to the popular American song, its singers, and songwriters–continues its sixth season with a fabulous evening with cabaret star Eric Comstock debuting “Singers & Songwriters: Now and Then.” The acclaimed vocalist and pianist offers a program, created exclusively for American Songbook, dedicated to great artists whose multiple talents allowed them to both write and perform some of the most unforgettable pop and jazz standards of the past 75 years.

The program features Comstock and his musical ensemble performing classics by an array of legendary artists from Louis Armstrong and Bing Crosby to Paul Simon and Randy Newman. The evening will also include anecdotes about the songs and Comstock’s insights as a pop music historian as to what makes them such treasures.
