About This Show

Continuing their series of brunch-time performances, The Laurie Beechman Theatre welcomes celebrated vocalist Aaron Lee Battle to perform a show that celebrates life, his recent journey through it, and, of course, Broadway. Along with him for the ride are the great songs of Harburg, Arlen, Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, Herman and others. Mr. Battle is accompanied by the incomparable Bobby Peaco (Rosie’s Family Cruise, Jerry Herman’s Show Tune) at the piano. The show is directed by Broadway’s Eric Michael Gillett.

Bistro Award-winner Aaron Lee Battle recently finished a run of his critically acclaimed show, Step Right Up. Having performed in cabaret since 1986, Battle has appeared at the Mabel Mercer Foundations Cabaret Convention at New York’s Town Hall and in San Francisco and has been featured in several cabaret rooms in New York City. He has worked with great talents, such as Barbara Carroll, Jay Leonhart, Tony Monte and many more and was the resident guest artist at “Gunay” Supper Club in Istanbul, Turkey for two years. In addition to performing throughout the United States, Germany, Northern Europe and Aruba with several companies of Ain’t Misbehavin’, Mr. Battle was a featured actor in several productions at the Duo Theater, New York, “stole the show” in the Off- Broadway production of The Coming Out Party and has played the role of Jake in Side Show. In 1994 Battle was proud to be asked to perform at the Opening Ceremonies of Gay Games IV and Cultural Festival, hosted by the City of New York.
