Kirill Gerstein

When Russian pianist Kirill Gerstein replaced the indisposed Maurizio Pollini at McCarter two seasons ago at the last minute, no one knew who he was. Now everybody does, and his triumph that evening earned him a return visit. Past winner of both the coveted Gilmore Artist Award and the Artur Rubinstein Piano Competition, Gerstein’s recital program will include Mussiorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibiton as well as works by Brad Mehldau, Gershwin, and Gyorgy Ligeti.
