The Kyogen of Errors

Montclair State University presents The Kyogen of Errors. Bringing the 600 year-old kyogen comedy art form into the modern world, Japan’s famed actor/director Mansai Nomura sends Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors through a veritable blender of traditional theatrics. The usual misunderstandings and mistaken identities of the classic tale of twins separated at birth come thick and fast via pared down dialogue, minimal sets and a flurry of authentic Japanese costumes and masks.
