Red Baraat

Red Baraat, a pioneering eight-piece band from Brooklyn, merges hard-driving North Indian bhangra rhythms with elements of jazz, go-go, brass funk and hip-hop. The band’s powerful live performance can be experienced at NJPAC’s Sounds of the City free outdoor concert series. This party jam, led by founder and percussionist Sunny Jain, includes tracks such as “Halla Bol,” a “raise your voice” anthem sung in Hindi, and “Burning Instinct,” which plays like a Quentin Tarantino car chase. House of Waters opens.
