About the Show

This touching and enlightening playby Jane Anderson looks at the 1986 Challenger incident and our need to reach beyond ourselves and dare the universe. It artfully interweaves the past with the present and the lives of bystanders. Subplots include painter Claude Monet’s artistic quest, the zeal of a teacher selected to be Challenger’s civilian astronaut, the perspective of her grieving daughter, the aspirations of elderly tourists, the guilt felt by a NASA mechanic and his girlfriend’s fear of heights.
