Bob Alper: Rabbi / Stand-Up Comic (Really)

About the Show

90 minutes of continuous laughter with ” the world’s only practicing clergyman doing stand-up comedy… intentionally.” With Extra-special opening feature, Elissa Senter, “The Rockin’ Rebbitzin.” Bob Alper is the only rabbi in the country who regularly addresses congregations that require a cover charge and a two-drink minimum. With his fresh, contemporary, and totally “unorthodox” style, Bob has been delighting audiences from Hollywood’s IMPROV to The Montreal Comedy Festival. And his unique brand of intelligent, 100% clean humor appeals to everyone – from a synagogue or church crowd to corporate events, colleges, and theatres throughout North America and London. Bob began his comedy career in 1986 when he entered the “Jewish Comic of the Year Contest” at the Going Bananas club in Philadelphia. Television, radio and personal appearances followed as he quickly honed his distinctive approach to stand-up. He’s been seen on Good Morning America, Showtime, the BBC, CNN, and is a favorite on the clean comedy channels of both XM and Sirius satellite radio.
