About the Show

In this charming musical comedy, adapted from the book written by New Jersey native Judith Viorst, Alexander’s father is starting a new job in a far away city. Everyone is looking forward to the move except feisty Alexander, who doesn’t want to leave his friends, soccer team, and everything else. Alexander learns that no matter where he goes, “home” is where is family is. It’s a heartwarming tale about leaving things behind and facing new challenges.

This performance is pesented by NJPAC’s Verizon Passport to Culture:Family Time Series and originated at the Kennedy Center as part of the Center’s Imagination Celebration series.
