The St. Louis Rep’s Mainstage season opens with a show of mythical proportion, Mary Zimmerman’s sensual and stunning
Metamorphoses. The Rep’s production of this Tony Award-winning adaptation of the timeless myths of Ovid is the first major regional theatre
production of Metamorphoses since the play’s Broadway run.

Our mythic side is given complete attention in this remarkable play,
adapted by Mary Zimmerman from centuries old stories, and woven with
a contemporary sensibility that underscores why these tales are,
truly, timeless. With, by turns, genial warmth, wrenching emotion and considerable comedy and good humor, Metamorphoses tells stories of love and loss, triumph and–most of all–transformation. Directed by Mary Zimmerman and staged by Eric Rosen.
