The Comedy of Errors takes place in Ephesus, a sea town in ancient Greece that is at war with Syracuse. Aegeon, an aged merchant from Syracuse, travels to Ephesus in search of his lost family. Caught in enemy territory, he is sentenced to death. Many years earlier, Aegeon, his wife Emelia and their identical twin sons (both named Antipholus) were separated in a storm at sea. The twin sons have male servants who are also identical twins (both named Dromio). The fun begins when both pairs of brothers wind up in the same city without realizing it.
