About the Show

The Susan McIntyre Playwriting Festival is a four-day celebration of new plays and playwrights. New plays are read and performed with panel discussions and classes on playwriting. This is Yellow Taxi’s third year presenting the festival and is their first with two full-length plays performed in rep.

Schedule

Wed, March 1st, 7:30pm: Six staged readings of the winners of Yellow Taxi’s national 10-minute play contest & a reading of the final revision of Lowell Williams’ play “The Warmth of the Cold.” Tickets $5 available at the door only.

Thurs, March 2nd, 7:30pm: Workshop production of the full-length play “Lanterns on Lamar” followed by a post-performance discussion with the playwright Warren Perry. Tickets $10

Fri, March 3rd, 7:30pm: Workshop production of the full-length play “Tender” followed by a panel discussion on creating plays based on historical subjects. Tickets $10

Sat, March 4th, 2pm: Encore production of “Tender” followed by a post-performance discussion with playwright David Preece. Tickets $10

Sat, March 4th, 7:30pm: Encore production of “Lanterns on Lamar.” Tickets $10
