Sweeney Todd

Set in the darkest corners of Victorian England, Stephen Sondheim’s gloriously gruesome musical thriller Sweeney Todd is an exhilarating mix of opera and musical theatre. It is the story of revenge as unjustly convicted barber Sweeney Todd returns to London after 15 years to punish the corrupt judge who sent him away and avenge the murder of his wife.

Sweeney Todd is being presented as part of the North Shore Music Theatre’s Youth Performance Academy Summer Stages program, these performances are the culmination of weeks of hard work by 54 of the North Shore’s most promising young talent. The cast features 26 young performers ranging in age from 13-18 representing 21 North Shore communities.

Proceeds from Friday evening’s performance benefit the North Shore Music Theatre Education Scholarship Fund.
