Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater presents Patty Larkin in Concert, a one-night-only event. Proceeds benefit Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater.
Ever since she was a small girl growing up in Milwaukee, music was an
important note in Larkin’s life. She began playing music on her own in her teens – first piano, then guitar. After earning a degree in English Literature from the University of Oregon, she headed east to Boston’s Berklee College of Music. Larkin began recording for Rounder/Philo; her 1991 Windham Hill debut, Tango, is the apogee of her time in the Boston singer/songwriter scene. Other notable recordings include Angels Running, Strangers World, Perishable Fruit and Regrooving the Dream. Her tenth recording, Red = Luck, was (like the two CDs before it) recorded in her Wellfleet home studio. It was released earlier this year.
Larkin’s songs have been covered by Holly Cole and Cher; her own renditions have been heard in such movies as Evolution and Random Hearts. She has received an unprecedented 11 Boston Music Awards, an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music and has even been accorded “Patty Larkin Day” by the City of Boston.
