New York City
Peter Schaffer’s Lettice and Lovage depicts an unlikely friendship between two women who have a passion for history. Miss Lettice Douffet is an eccentric tour guide who invents outlandish fantasies to protest all things uninteresting or second-rate. Lotte Schoen is her uptight employer at London’s Preservation Trust who holds the lady’s livelihood in her hands. The two come head-to-head when Lotte disapproves of the bizarre historical inaccuracies in Lettice’s tour of Fustian House, a gloomy Tudor manor with a bland history.
Appropriate for audiences 12 and up.
