Burlesque: By Women, For Women

Last May, The Boston Babydolls presented their first Burlesque: By Women, For Women at The Coolidge Corner Theatre. Miss Mina, co-founder of the troupe, said “As students of our burlesque roots and Boston’s history, we thought it was important to experience the unique atmosphere of performing burlesque for an all female audience.” She added “Last year was for history, but we had so much fun… we’re doing it again” This sentiment was echoed by the troupe’s other founder and usual M.C., Scratch “Burlesque celebrates all that’s best about women. And this show highlights what’s best about burlesque. I just wish I could be in it”. In addition to performances by The Boston Babydolls, Burlesque: By Women, For Women features video of classic burlesque performances, a mini lesson in the burlesque arts, and a special guest performance by snake dancer, Zehara Nechash.
