Bombs and Manifestos

About the Show

Alarm Clock Theatre Company presents Bombs and Manifestos.

Who has read the Unabomber’s manifesto from beginning to end? Are there passages, taken out of context, with which a person could sympathize? Could somebody read the document and actually agree with Ted Kaczynski? When playwright Brian Polak read the manifesto a year ago he wondered if any of this was possible. So he began developing a character which evolved into the monologue Bombs and Manifestos.

The monologue is delivered by BB, a lonely subway musician, who has decided to make a big change in his life and give up his gig entertaining the city’s subway commuters. In his farewell performance he discusses his appreciation for (and his interpretation of) the manifesto written by, who he refers to as “our friend,” The Unabomber to a chilling conclusion.
