A Tribute to August Wilson features special guests who have been notable interpreters of Wilson’s work over the years, as well as dramatic selections from several of Wilson’s plays. Director Kenny Leon, who steered Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean from the Huntington directly to Broadway in 2004 and is now directing the Huntington’s production of Radio Golf on its way to New York, will appear at the tribute to talk about his time working with Wilson on his final two plays. Wilson’s wife Constanza Romero was a frequent collaborator with Wilson as a costume designer. At the event she will recount her life with the playwright and talk about the legacy he left.
