Few dance companies are more identified with the heart of the classical ballet tradition than the Mariinsky Ballet. The legendary company (which has reclaimed its original name following decades of being known by its Soviet name, the Kirov) has given the world some of the greatest dancers and choreographers in the history of the art throughout its 250 years. And it continues to astonish audiences today – including its
fans at Segerstrom Center. For its highly anticipated return to the Center, the Mariinsky Ballet and Orchestra will perform one of the most famous and beloved ballets of all – Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. The Friday, October 5th preview talk (one hour before the performance) will be sign language interpreted.
