About the Show

Hailed by the San Francisco Classical Voice as “an ensemble of exceedingly skilled young musicians,” Kontrapunktus makes its Armstrong Theatre debut with their new production, “THE FRENCH: Les maîtres du baroque.” The program will celebrate French Baroque music by showcasing the immortal works of Jean-Baptiste Lully, François Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jean-Marie Leclair, and Georg Philipp Telemann. KONTRAPUNKTUS is a world-class chamber ensemble led by Concertmaster, Cameron Alan-Lee, and under the artistic direction of Osheen Manukyan, and their presentation of “THE FRENCH: Les maîtres du baroque” will culminate with a performance by the incomparable violin soloist, Aubree Oliverson. This special performance is sponsored in part by a generous donation from the Torrance Refining Company.
