The Playboy of the Western World

In a village on the wild Irish coast of Country Mayo at the turn of the twentieth century, young Christy Mahon flees his home claiming to have killed his father. He gains notoriety among the locals who enjoy his tale and celebrate his victories in their competitive games. In short order, Christy attracts the romantic attention of barmaid Pegeen Mike, daughter of the neighborhood publican – until his tale is brought into question.
