One of Pinter’s earliest works, The Hothouse is a viciously funny send-up of bureaucratic ineptitude and indifference. On Christmas Day the Staff of a mental hospital wrestles with a few troubling questions. When did Patient 6457 die? Who got Patient 6459 pregnant? Which of them won the duck in the canteen raffle? – Which of them will survive the patient uprising? This is the second production of The Hothouse presented by Longacre Lea, but it is not a remount, rather an entirely new production.
