Gary Mitchell is an unflinchingly honest chronicler of life within the Protestant community of Belfast. The Forces of Change marks a departure from his last play Trust, produced at the Royal Court in February 1999. Leaving his familiar territory of the Rathcoole Estate, Mitchell turns his focus onto the RUC and the extremely topical issue of collusion with the Loyalist men of terror.
