About the Show

Everybody knows McMurphy and Nurse Ratchet from Milos Forman’s Oscar-winning film. The difference between the film and Dale Wasserman’s powerful stage adaptation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is that the Native American Chief Bromden is, as he was in the Ken Kesey novel, at the heart of the narrative. The dreamy, sad, scary play is as much about how society deals with outcasts as it is about life inside a mental institution. Eric Hill directs.
