Raised in big-hearted turn-of-the century Oklahoma territory, spunky Laurey Williams spurns the affections of cowboy Curly McLain – only to fall into the hands of malevolent hired hand Jud Fry. Then unexpected tragedy strikes, farmers and cowmen alike must confront the untamed wilderness of the human heart.
