Josephine has already been promised to Sir Joseph, First Lord of the Admiralty. The Captain has a secret admirer as well?Little Buttercup, the peddler. Due to everyone’s social position, no one is allowed to marry his or her true love. In delightful Gilbert & Sullivan style, a final revelation by Buttercup brings all the hilarious trauma to an end.
