The Royal National Theatre and English National Opera join forces to present this fully-staged production. The Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney has created a new English version of the text. A young man who abandons his home and is lured into the forest by his romantic infatuation with a gypsy is the premesis of the song cycle, THE DIARY OF ONE WHO VANISHED. These will be the only UK performances of this show.
A song cycle by Leos Janacek, poems by Ozef Kalda in a new version by Seamus Heaney. Directed by Deborah Warner, designed by Jean Kalman and Tom Pye with costumes by John Bright. Cast includes: Ian Bostridge and Ruby Philogene, and the pianist is Julius Drake.
