About the Show

Contraption explores human innovation by dissecting the lives of history’s inventors. Leonardo da Vinci slept only three hours a day. The creator of Kodak film killed himself, leaving behind a note reading, "My work is done. Why wait?" If an inventor is someone who looks at reality and decides something is missing, Contraption asks if that might simply be a form of insanity. If necessity is the mother of invention, is madness the wayward father?
