Once upon a time there was a girl who thought that nobody loved her. Working in a run-down fairground, she dreamt that one of these nights the battered old carousel horses might come to life. They’d paw the air, toss their manes and take her away from all this … to the glittering magical fairground of her dreams …This year’s Lyric Christmas show is a brand new staging of the most magical and best-loved of all the Christmas stories, Cinderella. Acclaimed young director Dan Jemmet, from the Theatre de la Ville in Paris, sets the story – complete, of course, with glass slipper, Ugly Sisters and that magical coach – in the evocative world of a fairground.
