Set during the 1870s in a small New England town, Carousel is a love story that centers on Billy Bigelow, a smooth-talking carnival barker who falls hard for mill worker Julie Jordan. Then, just before the birth of his daughter, Billy is killed while committing a robbery. Will Heaven give him a second chance to do the right thing?

With 24 hours on earth to do one good deed, and escorted by a heavenly friend, Billy goes to his wife and daughter and, in his own awkward way, conveys his love for them.
