King Lear

In King Lear, an arrogant old man decides to divide his kingdom among his three daughters, giving the best portion to the one who loves him most. Unable to distinguish between false praise and true love, he is so enraged he banishes Cordelia, and gives his realm to Goneril and Regan. With Cordelia gone, the sisters strip Lear of his dignity and possessions. In destitution and madness he re-discovers himself and his one faithful daughter, but no one can overcome the evil unleashed by mistaken choices in this greatest of Shakespeare’s tragedies.
