About the Show

Hamlet Dreams is a visceral new adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, presented in spoken English and American Sign Language to look at this familiar story through the lens of deaf culture. Starting with Hamlet’s letter to Ophelia, the play takes a new look at his powerful love for Ophelia, his relationship with his deaf parents Gertrude and the late King Hamlet, and the strained relationship with his hearing stepfather Claudius.
