The Road to Ultra-Light

In Paul Barile’s new musical, The Road to Ultra-Light, Dirk Dashing has only two things on his mind: singing pop tunes and courting Abigail Miracle. But Dirk and his trusty sidekick Rubles find themselves involved in a game of cat-and-mouse with the mischievous Malcolm Mordacity. All the while, the fate of the lovely hamlet known as Ultra-Light hangs in the balance.

The reading of The Road to Ultra-Light does not feature any of the show’s music; it is simply, says writer Barile, an opportunity “to tell the story and see how it holds up with today’s more sophisticated, computer-savvy kids.” The reading is directed by Lavina Jadwhani and produced by Jakub Haczkiewicz.
