The Memory of Water

A comic and touching account of three sisters on the occasion of their mother’s death, each haunted by their own demons, drifting around their own islands of memory. The irreverent and witty dialogue among the sisters gives way, finally, to the deeper bond they share. Ms. Stephenson’s play enjoyed an extended run at London’s Hampstead Theatre in 1996, winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2000.
