The Idiots

The Lakeshore Theater’s artistic director Chris Ritter, together with Paul Provenza, director of the hit film The Aristocrats, presents the ingenious two-man comedy show The Idiots.

The modern day interpretation of the classic film starring and written by Craig Anton and Ron Lynch, The Idiots is a hilarious look into the lives of the two sons of Watson and Crick, the scientists who discovered DNA. True to the title, the sons, who have created a brotherly bond in their youth, attempt to perform their own scientific research, following in their fathers’ famous footsteps, but lacking one key ingredient – intelligence. Through a combination of clever comedic writing, physical comedy and Abbott and Costello-like exchanges, this simple and unexpected masterpiece will send adult audiences of all ages into hysterical laughter.

Audiences and critics alike cannot help but marvel at the side-splitting dynamics of the skillfully performed show, which is slightly different each time it is performed depending on "how the spirit moves the actors."
