About the Show

HotHouse presents a world premiere theatrical run of RPM Productions’ …for you were a stranger…, a courageous exploration of the choices we make in order to know ourselves and perhaps to escape ourselves. Written and performed by Rula Sirhan Gardenier and Donna Blue Lachman (of the Blue Rider Theatre), it is the story of two women, an Arab and a Jew, who meet three times across the 4000-year span of their common heritage. First as Sarah and Hagar the Matriarchs of the Bible, they then move to Medieval Spain as daughters of the “Golden Age” of Muslim/Jewish Culture and finally to the modern Middle East of 1967.
