First Time or Fan

First Time or Fan?: A Musical Improv Team is a musical theatre/musical improv hybrid show and the winner of Under The Gun Theater’s 2nd Annual Tournament of Shows. Every week, we pick a real musical. We then ask musical theatre performers to come in and sing a few songs from that musical. Then, musical improvisers who have never previously seen that musical attempt to recreate it–using only the songs they’ve just heard as inspiration. The musical improvisers perform a fully improvised 30 minute musical. They are our “First Timers,” and the musical theatre performers are our “Fans.”
