About the Show

A staged reading of Downsizing Camus, a new play by visually impaired Chicago playwright, director and instructor Todd Bauer, is the next Victory Gardens Access Project Crip Slam presentation.

Crip Slam is Victory Gardens’ Sunday night series of performances, readings, movies and other events that promote, explore, and celebrate disability culture. Please note: All Crip Slam performances, readings and special events are accessible to people with mobility, hearing and vision disabilities.

Downsizing Camus takes place over the course of a blizzard-bound evening in a college tavern, where two strangers debate everything from the meaning of love to their best college stories concerning the involuntary evacuation of
bodily fluids. When an idealistic 19-year-old coed enters the intimate environment, the emotional and intellectual tension builds to the point of devastating explosion.
