Biloxi Blues

About the Show

Biloxi Blues is the story of Eugene Morris Jerome, a young Jewish male, who ascends into manhood at boot camp in Biloxi, Mississippi during World War II in 1943. Eugene matures through his experiences with his fellow soldiers, a mentoring drill sergeant, his first female relationships, and the harsh realities of war. Biloxi Blues received the 1985 Tony Award for “Best Play” and the 1985 Drama Desk Award for “Outstanding New Play.” RiMeChi chose Biloxi Blues because it raises awareness of discrimination and prejudice, including anti-Semitism, racism, and prejudice against homosexuals, while providing an entertaining night of theatre.
