The Clowns

Written by West Hartford’s own, Andrew Mayo, and Matthew Dicks of Newington, this rock opera follows hopeless geek, MC, aspiring rockstar, Jake, and a host of other quirky characters as they grapple with love and life on their way to a high-octane Battle of the Bands, complete with an all-rock score based on actual opera arias.
As a new work, The Clowns is presented in a highly interactive workshop reading for the next generation. In these workshops, the audience plays an active role in the development process of the production through a post performance Talk-Back with the playwright, director, and cast, as well as personal response cards. This gives both the team and the audiences a great opportunity to comment, make suggestions, and improve the experience.
