A Tribute to Paul Robeson

The African Caribbean American Promotional Series presents A Tribute to Paul Robeson. This historic educational program will be offered annually as part of a concert series. It will also expose the general community to the lives of those persons of color who led the fight for equal opportunity in the realm of the arts, particularly in classical music.

Featuring: Samuel Eudovique, Dramatic Tenor & Carol Adrianna Stanton, Coloratura Soprano

Samuel Eudovique, Dramatic Tenor, was born on the island of Barbados in the West Indies. Due to his father’s career as a minister of religion, he resided on many Caribbean islands before migrating to the United States of America where he attended high school and college in Miami, Florida.

As a gifted athlete, his early career sights seemed to be set on sports, however, his passion for music has been a life long interest since his early days performing at church events, and he decided to devote himself to his art. Initially a gifted baritone, it took the experienced ear of world renowned tenor, Luciano Pavaroti, at a private audition, to set him on his path of studies as a dramatic tenor. He was accepted into Opera Music Theater International (O.M.T.I), a training program for opera singers under the leadership of the great Basso Jerome Hines. In pursuit of his operatic career, he has performed in New York and Europe.

Samuel Eudovique continued under the tutelage of Maestro Rafael Cardonne and he has worked diligently and mastered the skills of the Dramatic Tenor.

Upcoming engagements are concerts in The Bahamas, Carolina, Hawaii, and an audition tour and a recording session in Europe where he is likely to perform José in Bizet’s Carmen, and Verdi’s Otello, as well as his magnificently rendered “Tribute to Paul Robeson”.

Carol Adrianna Stanton, Dramatic Coloratura Soprano, Was born and raised in New York. She began her theatre career performing in drama and musicals. Carol was introduced to Opera in high school. Carol also attended South Carolina State University where she studied with Dr. Robert Grenier. Further studies took her to France where she studied with the renowned French Soprano, Mady Mesple, and she performed there, and in several other European countries. Carol Stanton is now under the watchful eye of Marianne Weltmann. Upcoming engagements include Mussetta with Miami Lyric Opera and Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen.
