Hedwig and the Angry Inch

A dazzling, award winning Off-Broadway play, Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of an East Berlin boy who becomes a girl to marry an American GI and leave his communist country. He-she moves to a trailer park in Kansas with dreams of becoming a rock star. She soon finds herself divorced, supports herself with babysitting gigs, and forms a band. She falls for a sheltered young man she renames Tommy Gnosis and teaches him everything she knows about music. Tommy steals her songs and becomes the rock star Hedwig always dreamed she’d be. Refusing to be defeated, she fiercely performs as an ?internationally ignored song stylist.? at various hole-in-wall venues, steak houses, and all-you-can-eat-buffet lines, seeking recognition and retribution.
