About the Show
“This Christmas you will be visited by three spirits…again”. A Christmas Carol returns to the playhouse. School Street Playhouse proudly presents in conjunction with the Sherouse/Riley team, the original producers of the spectacular Christmas play, the classic tale of 'A Christmas Carol'.
The plot is centered on Ebenezer Scrooge, a penny-pinching miser in the first degree. He cares nothing for the people around him and mankind exists only for the money that can be made through exploitation and intimidation. He particularly detests Christmas which he views as 'a time for finding yourself a year older, and not an hour richer'. Scrooge is visited on Christmas Eve, by the ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley who died seven Christmas Eves ago. He tells Scrooge that he will be haunted by three spirits, the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, who must succeed in showing Scrooge the error of his ways. This classic tale is filled with music, dance and characters that will warm your heart, cheer your spirits and remind us that it is never too late for redemption and combines superb special effects for an evening of entertainment unlike any experienced before. This play was written by and adapted for the stage by G. Scott Riley and Lisa Sherouse Riley, based on the classic novel by Charles Dickens.
