About the Show

TheatreSport, Ltd. presents The Luigi Board. This zany and hilarious musical romp which played to SRO audiences when it was first performed at Marisa’s Ristorante in Trumbull in August 2002, is returning to Marisa’s by popular demand for a limited number of weekend performances in July and August. The new production has been re-staged by veteran Broadway actor/director Tom Flagg.

The musical unfolds the story of Luigi, owner of a pizzeria in Formaggio, Italy, and how he came to invent his famous ‘Luigi Board,’ a magical pizza board which enables him to converse with his recently departed mistress. The show combines madcap psychic phenomena with familiar music from popular big band Italian-American crooners – Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Vic Damone, Louie Prima and others – to depict Luigi’s rise from humble pizzeria owner to world famous inventor of the Luigi Board. Luigi’s outrageously lovable large Italian family is deeply enmeshed in his charmingly absurd adventures that take him from Italy to New York City. Moreover, the audience is continually drawn into participating in the fun.

Ticket price includes tax and tips, as well as a family-style Italian dinner, featuring salad, pasta, choice of entrees, dessert and coffee.

The cast of The Luigi Board includes (in alphabetical order): Scott Albert, Adele Binelli, Barry Doss, Tiffany Hodges, Joseph Luongo and Leslie C. Nemet. Production Stage Manager is Danielle Campbell.
